The Higher Certificate in Business Administration is an entry-level higher education qualification. The purpose of this qualification
is to prepare students for a career in business or for proceeding to a higher level of business management study. This qualification is primarily vocational and industry oriented with Work Integrated Learning being a key component. The qualification provides students with the basic introductory knowledge, cognitive and conceptual tools to further their higher education studies in their chosen field of study. Students may also seek admission to degree or diploma programmes using this qualification as an entry requirement.

 

The Higher Certificate in Business Administration qualification is intended for students who want the basic administration and managerial knowledge. It will expose the student to the competencies, knowledge and skills needed to function more effectively in
a variety of administrative and managerial roles within service organisations. The qualification is designed to give students a good grounding of the basic disciplines in Business Management. The course prepares aspiring young managers for a role in Business
Management and to be able to initiate, improve efficiency and effectiveness of business enterprises, thereby, creating work and wealth.

The Higher Certificate: Business Administration is an entry-level higher education qualification. This qualification signifies that the student has attained knowledge and skills related to administration and management and is capable of applying such knowledge and competence in the workplace in the role of entry level business administrator/manager.

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with an endorsement for admission to a Higher Certificate
  • The National Certificate Vocational (NCV) at NQF Level 4 with appropriate combinations of recognised subjects and levels of achievement.
  • Further Education and Training (FET) NQF Level 4.
  • Mature age exemption for people above the age of 23 years as set out in the
  • Higher Education Regulations. Recognition of prior learning (RPL).
